Ingredients

  • 4 or 5 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup whole kernel corn

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon until crisp; remove and drain on paper towel.
  2. Add hot water, sugar, and salt to the bacon drippings in the pan.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Add shredded cabbage and whole kernel corn to the boiling mixture.
  5. Cover and cook quickly just until tender, about 7 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle with paprika and garnish with crumbled crisp bacon.
