- Pour puffed corn into a large paper bag.
- Combine white corn syrup, brown sugar, and margarine in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Simmer the mixture for 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla and baking soda.
- Pour the hot caramel mixture over the puffed corn and shake to coat evenly.
- Microwave the coated corn for 1 1/2 minutes on High.
- Shake vigorously after microwaving.
- Microwave again for another 1 1/2 minutes on High.
- Shake again to distribute the coating.
- Pour onto waxed paper and let cool before serving.
