Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup

Instructions

  1. Boil chicken, oleo, chopped celery, chopped onions, salt, and pepper in a large pot.
  2. Remove the cooked chicken from the stock and let it cool.
  3. Debone the chicken and set aside.
  4. Add cream of chicken soup to the stock.
  5. Shred the deboned chicken and add it back to the pot.
  6. Sprinkle the cornmeal into the boiling soup a pinch at a time while stirring until the soup thickens.
