Ingredients

  • 1 can cream of shrimp soup (undiluted)
  • 6 oz. cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 4 teaspoons dried onion flakes
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 (7 1/2 oz.) can crab meat (drained and flaked)

Instructions

  1. Combine the undiluted cream of shrimp soup, cream cheese, and chopped onion in a pan.
  2. Heat until the cheese melts, stirring constantly.
  3. Blend in the mayonnaise.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. In a small saucepan, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water.
  6. Over low heat, stir until the gelatin is dissolved.
  7. Stir the gelatin mixture into the soup mixture.
  8. Add the drained and flaked crab meat and chopped celery.
  9. Pour the mixture into a greased 6-cup mold.
  10. Refrigerate until the spread is firm.
  11. Serve as a spread with crackers.
