Instructions
- Melt butter and sugar in a saucepan together about 10 minutes on low until white, thick and bubbly.
- Line a cookie sheet pan with plain saltine crackers.
- Pour the melted mixture evenly over the crackers.
- Spread the mixture thoroughly over the crackers.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes, until golden tan and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chip morsels over the top and smooth out.
- Top with optional nuts or candy sprinkles.
- Refrigerate for several hours until hardened and then break into pieces.
