Ingredients

  • 2 cups peeled, sliced apples
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon apple jelly
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Combine peeled, sliced apples, sugar, brown sugar, cornstarch, apple jelly, and cinnamon in a medium saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Cook for 1 minute longer, continuing to stir.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in cranberries.
  5. Pour the mixture into an unbaked 9-inch pie shell.
  6. Sprinkle chopped pecans on top of the filling.
  7. Bake at 400°F for 35 to 40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
