Cranberry Tea Biscuits combine tart cranberry flavor with cheesy, flaky biscuits, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or tea time, offering a delightful balance of sweetness and savoriness.

Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. Ocean Spray jellied cranberry sauce, crushed
  • 1/4 c. soured cream
  • grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Sift dry ingredients together and cut in shortening.
  2. Beat egg until creamy.
  3. Add crushed cranberry sauce and sour cream to the beaten egg and mix well.
  4. Combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients until just incorporated.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured board to about 1/2 inch thickness.
  6. Cut into square biscuits and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheese on top of each biscuit.
  8. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
