Ingredients

  • 1 stick plus 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 12 oz. cream cheese
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Cream butter or margarine and cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Blend in flour and salt until the dough is well combined.
  3. Chill the dough in the refrigerator, keeping any extra in the fridge.
  4. Roll out the chilled dough to about 1/8-inch thickness.
  5. Cut the dough into 2-inch rounds.
  6. Place a tiny dab of raspberry and/or apricot preserves on each round.
  7. Fold the rounds over to form turnovers and seal the edges.
  8. Bake at 425° to 450°F for about 10 minutes, until golden.
  9. Remove hot cookies with a spatula and transfer to wire cooling racks.
  10. Sift confectioners' sugar onto the turnovers while they are hot.
