Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1 1/4 c. tomatoes
  • 1 c. ground beef or pork (raw or cooked)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 c. corn meal
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/3 c. canned corn

Instructions

  1. Slowly fry onions in shortening; add tomatoes when hot.
  2. Stir in corn meal.
  3. Cook and stir 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from fire; stir in all other ingredients.
  5. Pour into a greased pan and bake in moderate oven at 325° for about 45 minutes.
