Ingredients

  • 2 lb. lean ground pork butt
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Cook pork and onion over low heat, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
  2. Add salt and pepper; continue cooking for about 2 hours.
  3. Add ground cloves in the last 15 minutes of cooking.
  4. Mash the mixture with a potato masher for a smooth texture.
  5. Ladle off excess grease after removing from heat.
  6. Once cooled and set, scrape off any remaining fat with a knife or spoon.
