Ingredients

  • 3 c. tiny marshmallows
  • 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 c. crisp rice cereal or round toasted oat cereal
  • 1 c. raisins, peanuts, sunflower seeds or snipped gumdrops (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan with foil and butter the foil.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt marshmallows and butter over low heat, stirring constantly until melted.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  4. Stir in half of the cereal, then add the remaining cereal and mix until well combined.
  5. Fold in raisins, nuts, sunflower seeds, or gumdrops if desired.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and press evenly with the back of a wooden spoon or with buttered hands.
  7. Allow to cool, then cut into bars.
