Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lb. cube steak
  • flour
  • salt
  • pepper
  • oil
  • garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Roll the cube steak in flour.
  2. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Put the steak in a frying pan with 1/4 to 1/2 cup of oil and fry until browned on both sides.
  4. Remove the steak from the frying pan and place into a large baking pan, layering if necessary.
  5. Pour 1 1/2 quarts of water into the frying pan and bring to a boil.
  6. Pour the boiling water into the baking pan with the meat.
  7. Cover the baking pan with foil.
  8. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons of garlic powder on top before covering.
  9. Bake at 450°F for 1 1/2 hours.
