Ingredients

  • 6 lb. well-trimmed short ribs
  • 3 Tbsp. liquid gravy seasoning
  • 1 lb. carrots chunks
  • 1 lb. small white onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/4 cup Minute tapioca
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme leaves
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 instant beef bouillon
  • 2 cups red wine
  • 1 cup water
  • peeled potatoes

Instructions

  1. Brush the short ribs with gravy seasoning and place them in the bottom of a 5 1/2 quart crock-pot.
  2. Add carrots, white onions, garlic, bay leaves, and peeled potatoes to the crock-pot.
  3. Combine tapioca, pepper, thyme, salt, and beef bouillon; sprinkle this mixture over the short ribs and vegetables.
  4. Pour red wine and water over the ingredients in the crock-pot.
  5. Cover and cook on high setting for 4 1/2 to 5 hours until the meat is tender.
