Ingredients

  • 5 cups pecan halves
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C).
  2. Spread pecan halves on an ungreased 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan.
  3. Bake pecans at 275°F for 10 minutes.
  4. In a large saucepan, combine sugar, orange juice, cinnamon, salt, and cloves.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil; boil for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the warm pecans.
  7. Using a slotted spoon, transfer pecans to foil or waxed paper to dry.
  8. Separate pecans with a fork and let dry completely.
  9. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
