Crunch Bars are a deliciously easy treat combining crispy saltine crackers layered with a rich chocolate topping and caramel-like butter and brown sugar. Perfect for parties, potlucks, or a sweet snack, they offer a satisfying crunch and indulgent flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 43 saltine crackers
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 12 oz chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Line a 10 x 15 x 1-inch pan with foil and arrange the saltine crackers in the pan.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together. Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes.
  4. Pour the hot butter and sugar mixture evenly over the crackers.
  5. Bake for about 7 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top.
  7. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the surface.
  8. Allow to cool, then refrigerate for 1 hour.
  9. Break into pieces and serve.
