Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 3 teaspoons flour
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon flavoring

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs, butter, sugar, milk, and flavoring together until well combined.
  2. Beat the mixture vigorously to incorporate air.
  3. Pour the custard mixture into a lined pie pan.
  4. Bake in a slow oven until set, then remove and cool.
  5. Prepare a meringue with 2 egg whites and 4 tablespoons of sugar.
  6. Spread the meringue over the cooled pie.
  7. Bake in a slow oven until the meringue is nicely browned.
