Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 rabbits, dressed
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • vegetable oil
  • 8 potatoes, halved
  • 10 carrots, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Cut up the rabbit into serving size pieces.
  2. Combine flour, salt, curry powder, and paprika in a paper or plastic bag.
  3. Add the rabbit pieces and shake until each piece is thoroughly coated.
  4. Brown the meat in vegetable oil in a large skillet.
  5. Add 1 cup of water, cover, and simmer for about 1 hour.
  6. Add the vegetables and bay leaves; cook an additional 30 minutes or until carrots are tender.
  7. Remove the rabbit and vegetables from the skillet.
  8. Add sour cream and garlic powder to the skillet.
  9. Heat until the sauce thickens to make gravy.
