Ingredients

  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cans crushed pineapple
  • 1-16 oz container sour cream
  • 1 large container Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Mix cake mix as instructed on the box and pour into two 9-inch round pans.
  3. Bake for approximately 15-22 minutes until cakes are done.
  4. Meanwhile, drain crushed pineapple and mix with sour cream and sugar in a large bowl.
  5. Take half of the pineapple-sour cream mixture and fold in the container of Cool Whip.
  6. Refrigerate both mixtures until the cakes are completely cooled.
  7. Once cooled, spread the pineapple-sour cream mixture without Cool Whip on top of one cake layer.
  8. Place the second cake layer on top of the first, with the pineapple mixture in between.
  9. Spread the Cool Whip mixture all over the assembled cake as frosting.
  10. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Enjoy!
