Date Bran Bread

Instructions
- Heat oven to 375°.
- Grease and flour bottom of an 8 x 4 or 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine quick bread mix, bran cereal, buttermilk, honey and egg. Stir by hand 50 to 75 strokes until dry particles are moistened.
- Pour into prepared pan. Sprinkle wheat germ over batter.
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool upright in pan 15 minutes, remove and cool on wire rack. Store tightly covered overnight in refrigerator.
- If desired, serve with cream cheese and apricot preserves.
- Makes 12 servings.
