Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oleo
  • 1 (8 oz.) package chopped dates
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups Rice Krispies
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup flaked coconut

Instructions

  1. Combine oleo, chopped dates, sugar, egg, and vanilla in a large saucepan. Cook on low heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
  2. Remove from heat and add Rice Krispies and chopped pecans.
  3. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into two 11-inch logs and roll in flaked coconut.
  5. Cool completely and slice into thin pieces.
