- Dredge nuts and chopped dates in 1/2 cup sifted flour.
- Cream together softened butter, cream cheese, and sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in vanilla and salt.
- Stir in the remaining sifted flour, then fold in the floured nuts and dates.
- Pour the batter into three loaf pans.
- Bake at 300°F (150°C) for about 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before removing from pans; may need additional baking time.
- Loaves freeze well for storage.
