Date Pecan Blondies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 c. chopped dates
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan. Beat brown sugar and butter or margarine until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  3. Add flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg; mix well.
  4. Add dates and stir well.
  5. Spread into greased pan.
  6. Sprinkle chopped pecans on top.
  7. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until light golden brown.
