- Put dates; cut in small pieces.
- Chop nuts.
- Cream sugars and shortening.
- Add flavorings.
- Beat in eggs; add dates and nuts. Add dry ingredients.
- Makes a stiff dough.
- Shape in balls.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Flatten slightly.
- Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Makes 5 to 6 dozen.
