Day Ahead Brisket

Ingredients

  • 14 to 15 lb. beef brisket
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 c. chili sauce
  • 1 (12 oz.) can beer
  • kaiser rolls

Instructions

  1. Brown brisket in a small amount of oil in Dutch oven.
  2. Drain; sprinkle with soup mix.
  3. Cover with onion rings and celery.
  4. Spoon chili sauce and 1/2 cup water around brisket.
  5. Bake covered at 350° for 45 minutes or until tender, basting occasionally over brisket. Refrigerate overnight.
  6. Skim.
  7. Slice brisket cross grain.
  8. Heat. Serve on kaiser rolls with sauce.
