- Toast bread before making bread crumbs.
- (This is the secret for making good bread pudding.)
- Scald milk and pour over bread crumbs. Cool and add remaining ingredients, mixing well.
- Pour into an 1 1/2-quart casserole pan.
- Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
