Decadent Almond Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs or equivalent egg substitute
  • 1/3 c. butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 c. slivered almonds

Instructions

  1. Mix flour with baking powder and salt.
  2. Beat eggs in a large bowl.
  3. Stir in sugar and butter.
  4. Beat well.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Blend. Add 1 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 cup nuts.
  7. Spread evenly in greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
  8. Cover with rest of almonds.
  9. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
  10. Cool slightly.
  11. Cut into bars.
  12. Delicious!
