Dee'S Concord Grape Pie

Ingredients

  • 5 1/2 cups Concord grapes
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • dash of salt
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oleo

Instructions

  1. Remove and save skins from Concord grapes by pinching grapes at the end opposite the stem; the fruit will pop out.
  2. Prepare the pie crust and fit it into a pie dish.
  3. In a bowl, combine 5 1/2 cups of Concord grapes, 3/4 cup of flour, a dash of salt, 1 2/3 cups of sugar, and 3/4 teaspoon of lemon juice.
  4. Pour the grape filling into the prepared pie crust.
  5. Dot the filling with 1 1/2 tablespoons of oleo (margarine or butter).
  6. Cover with top crust, seal edges, and cut slits to vent.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before serving.
