Ingredients

  • 1 package angel food cake mix
  • 1 can lemon pie filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon lemon extract

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry angel food cake mix with the lemon pie filling until well blended.
  2. Pour the batter into an ungreased jellyroll or sheet cake pan.
  3. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 20 to 25 minutes until golden and set.
  4. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
  5. Prepare the frosting by mixing softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and lemon extract until smooth.
  6. Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled lemon squares.
