- Combine Crisco, crunchy peanut butter, and brown sugar; beat until fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla; beat well.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
- Place on ungreased baking sheets.
- Press the center of each ball with your thumb.
- Bake at 375°F for 7 minutes.
- Press a candy star into the center of each cookie.
- Continue baking for 2 to 3 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Cool on a rack.
