Devil'S Food Float Cake

Instructions
- Boil 1/2 cup sugar in 1 1/2 cups water 5 minutes.
- Pour into casserole dish and add marshmallows.
- Cream butter and the other 1/2 cup sugar.
- Add vanilla.
- Stir in dry ingredients alternately with milk.
- Add nuts and blend.
- Drop from large spoon over marshmallows.
- Cover dish and bake in 350° oven for 45 minutes or until done.
