Ingredients

  • 1 head lettuce, shredded
  • 2 medium red onions, sliced
  • 2 green peppers, sliced
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 8 oz. can water chestnuts, sliced
  • 10 oz. frozen peas
  • New York sharp cheese
  • 3 eggs, hard-boiled
  • 4 strips bacon, crumbled
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 cups mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Layer lettuce, red onions, green peppers, celery, water chestnuts, and frozen peas in a serving bowl.
  2. Spread mayonnaise evenly over the layered mixture.
  3. Do not stir the layers together.
  4. Sprinkle with shredded New York sharp cheese and cover the bowl.
  5. Refrigerate for 24 hours to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Before serving, garnish with sliced hard-boiled eggs, crumbled bacon, and sliced tomatoes.
