A savory, cheesy bread filled with melted Monterey Jack and fragrant dill, perfect for sharing at gatherings or as a tasty appetizer with a flavorful twist.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf bread
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 package Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons dill

Instructions

  1. Cut the loaf of bread in a crisscross pattern almost to the bottom, but not quite through.
  2. Melt the margarine and add dill to it.
  3. Use a pastry brush to brush the dill-infused margarine mixture on the inside of each cut in the bread.
  4. Slice the Monterey Jack cheese into thin squares and tuck a piece into each cut in the bread.
  5. Wrap the bread tightly in foil.
  6. Place in a preheated oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes or until the cheese melts.
  7. Once baked, tear off pieces to serve.
