Ingredients

  • 6 cucumbers
  • ice water
  • onion slices or clove of garlic
  • dill
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 c. white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Soak cucumbers in ice water for 3 to 4 hours.
  2. Drain the cucumbers.
  3. Slice or cut cucumbers into strips.
  4. Place cucumbers in sterilized jars, along with onion and a generous amount of dill.
  5. Combine sugar, water, and vinegar in a pot and bring to a boil.
  6. Pour the hot mixture over the pickles and seal the jars.
  7. Store the jars at a temperature of 70° to 75° until the cucumbers look transparent, about 3 weeks.
