- Keep popcorn hot in a 350°F oven.
- Melt butter in a saucepan; stir in corn syrup, brown sugar, and salt.
- Bring to a boil while stirring. Boil for 5 minutes without stirring.
- Remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla.
- Pour the caramel over the popcorn and mix well.
- Turn into 2 large, greased, shallow pans.
- Place in a 250°F oven for 1 hour, stirring every 5 minutes.
- Remove from oven, cool, and break apart.
