Ingredients

  • 2 c pre-sifted flour
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/3 c shortening
  • 1/2 c grated cheese
  • 1 c milk

Instructions

  1. Measure and place the flour, baking powder, and salt in a sifter over the mixing bowl.
  2. Sift the flour mixture into a bowl.
  3. Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the grated cheese and milk to the mixture.
  5. Stir with a fork until the flour mixture leaves the side of the bowl.
