Ingredients

  • 1 c. whiskey
  • 1 (12 oz.) bottle Heinz chili sauce
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 small onion
  • green or red sweet pepper
  • 3 lb. party sausages or party wieners

Instructions

  1. The night before, combine whiskey, chili sauce, brown sugar, diced onion, and diced peppers in a saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then let it simmer for about 1 hour.
  3. Refrigerate the sauce overnight.
  4. About 3 hours prior to serving, place the sausages in a crock-pot and pour the prepared sauce over them.
  5. Heat until the sauce is cooked through the meat, approximately 3 hours.
