Ingredients

  • 2 (28 oz.) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 2 (28 oz.) cans whole tomatoes
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomato puree
  • 4 medium to large onions
  • 2 large garlic clusters
  • 1 Tbsp. allspice
  • 1 Tbsp. basil leaves
  • 1 Tbsp. paprika
  • olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. chives
  • 1 Tbsp. oregano
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. cayenne
  • any additional spices you desire

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, lightly sauté onions and garlic in olive oil.
  2. Add the whole tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, and tomato puree to the pan.
  3. Stir in allspice, chives, paprika, basil leaves, oregano, chili powder, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Simmer on low heat for several hours, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and flavors meld.
