Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 c. warm water
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 6 1/2 c. flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water and let stand for 5 minutes.
  2. Add 2 1/2 cups of flour, oil, sugar, salt, and egg to the yeast mixture.
  3. Beat with an electric mixer for 3 minutes.
  4. Let the mixture rest for 15 minutes.
  5. Add the remaining flour and knead until elastic and smooth, about 10 minutes.
  6. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  7. Shape into 2 large loaves or 4 dozen rolls.
  8. Bake at 350° to 375° Fahrenheit until golden brown.
