Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup white Karo syrup
  • 1 cup Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
  • dash of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the brown sugar and a dash of salt; stir well to combine.
  3. Stir in the Karo syrup until fully incorporated.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly.
  5. Boil for 2 minutes.
  6. Add the sweetened condensed milk to the mixture.
  7. Bring the mixture back to a boil, stirring continuously.
  8. Continue boiling for 12 to 15 minutes or until the temperature reaches 234°F.
  9. Pour the hot caramel into a buttered 9 x 13-inch pan and let it cool.
