Ingredients

  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 1/4 cups cooking oil
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon coconut flavoring
  • 1 large Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and spread cooking oil in a 9-inch pan.
  2. Mix the yellow cake mix, oil, water, and eggs thoroughly.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. While the cake is still warm, combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup milk, and 1 teaspoon coconut flavoring in a saucepan.
  6. Heat the mixture until the sugar dissolves, then remove from heat.
  7. Punch holes in the warm cake using a fork.
  8. Pour the warm coconut mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.
  9. Spread Cool Whip evenly over the top of the cake.
  10. Sprinkle toasted coconut on top of the Cool Whip.
