Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 6 c. plain flour
  • butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Pour boiling water over shortening, sugar, and salt; let cool to lukewarm.
  2. Add beaten eggs to the mixture.
  3. Sprinkle dry yeast into warm water and let it dissolve.
  4. Add the yeast mixture to the first mixture.
  5. Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, to the mixture, mixing well.
  6. Place the dough in a large bowl and cover with a damp cloth.
  7. Put the bowl in the refrigerator and let the dough rise until doubled.
