Ingredients

  • 2 pkg dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 cups warm water
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Mix flour, cake mix, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add water and mix well to form a dough.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place in a lightly greased bowl; let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and shape into rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased pan and let rise for another hour.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until lightly browned on top, about 15 minutes.
  9. Brush the tops with butter when hot.
