- Combine Crisco, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Pour boiling milk into the mixture and stir until dissolved. Allow to cool.
- Soften yeast in warm water with 1 teaspoon of sugar.
- Add the softened yeast mixture to the cooled liquid ingredients.
- Add beaten egg and flour to the mixture, stirring thoroughly.
- Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape into rolls.
- Let the rolls rise again until doubled in size.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 to 25 minutes.
