Ingredients

  • 1 cup lard or 1 cup plus 3 tablespoons Crisco
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • milk
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar

Instructions

  1. Put egg yolk in a cup and fill to 1/2 cup with milk and vinegar. Mix flour and salt; cut in lard or shortening.
  2. Add the egg yolk mixture and milk to the flour mixture, and stir to combine.
  3. Divide the dough to make enough for 2 (2-crust) pies.
