Ingredients

  • 1 large jar kosher dill pickles
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups sugar

Instructions

  1. Remove dill pickles from the jar, discard the liquid, and drain well. Wash the pickles, then cut into lengthwise sections, usually quarters. Wash again.
  2. Drain the pickles and cover with cold water; soak overnight. You can put them back into the same jar for the soaking period.
  3. Combine the vinegar, water, and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  4. Set the mixture aside and allow it to cool completely.
  5. Drain the pickles and cover them with the cooled mixture in the same jar.
  6. Refrigerate and serve after allowing a few hours for the flavors to soak in.
