Easy "Surprise" Pickles

- Remove dill pickles from the jar, discard the liquid, and drain well. Wash the pickles, then cut into lengthwise sections, usually quarters. Wash again.
- Drain the pickles and cover with cold water; soak overnight. You can put them back into the same jar for the soaking period.
- Combine the vinegar, water, and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Set the mixture aside and allow it to cool completely.
- Drain the pickles and cover them with the cooled mixture in the same jar.
- Refrigerate and serve after allowing a few hours for the flavors to soak in.
