Ingredients

  • 72 pecan halves (about 4 oz.)
  • 24 caramel candies
  • 1 tsp. shortening
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Cover a cookie sheet with aluminum foil, shiny side up, and grease it lightly.
  3. Arrange three pecan halves in a Y-shape on the prepared foil for each candy.
  4. Place one caramel candy in the center of each pecan Y.
  5. Bake just until the caramel melts, about 9 to 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before handling.
