Ingredients

  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 2 c lukewarm water
  • 4 c self-rising flour
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 3/4 c melted margarine
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Mix together the yeast and lukewarm water and set aside.
  2. Combine self-rising flour, sugar, melted margarine, and egg, then mix in the yeast and water mixture.
  3. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.
  4. Keep in a sealed bowl in the refrigerator; best used within 4 days but can last about a week.
  5. When ready to bake, grease muffin tins and spoon the mixture into each about 3/4 full.
  6. Bake at 425°F until done or a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
