Ingredients

  • 1 slice bread
  • 2 pats butter or margarine
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Cut a whole in the center of the bread with a small upside-down drinking glass.
  2. Melt one pat of butter in a frying pan over low heat.
  3. Place the bread in the pan and break the egg into the hole.
  4. Cook until the bread is brown on the bottom, about 2 minutes.
  5. Turn the bread with the egg over; put the remaining butter in the pan and ensure it gets under the toast.
  6. Continue cooking until the egg meets your desired doneness.
