Eggs Piquant is a creamy, cheesy baked egg dish with a tangy kick from Worcestershire and white pepper, perfect for brunch or a savory snack. It serves six.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • dash of white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • small amount chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Combine mayonnaise, salt, white pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and chopped onion in a bowl.
  2. Gradually add milk, stirring until smooth, then add grated cheese.
  3. Cook over low heat until the cheese melts and the mixture is thick and smooth, about five minutes.
  4. Divide two tablespoons of the mixture into the bottom of each of six custard cups.
  5. Break an egg into each cup on top of the mixture.
  6. Add another two tablespoons of the mixture on top of each egg.
  7. Place the cups in a shallow pan containing one inch of hot water.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes until set.
