Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning
  • 1 pkg. tortilla chips
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 cup sliced olives
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 3 to 4 chopped chilies or small can diced chilies
  • Monterey Jack cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ground beef with taco seasoning following the package directions.
  2. Add tomato sauce to the cooked meat and mix well.
  3. In a bowl, combine sour cream, cottage cheese, chopped chilies, and sliced olives.
  4. Crush half of the tortilla chips and spread them in the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.
  5. Layer half of the meat mixture over the chips.
  6. Spread half of the cheese mixture over the meat layer.
  7. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded Monterey Jack cheese over the cheese layer.
  8. Repeat the layers with remaining ingredients, ending with Monterey Jack cheese on top.
  9. Top with remaining crushed tortilla chips.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  11. Serve hot and enjoy.
